In the meantime, I've been composting for many years. I keep a bowl by my kitchen sink and fill it up with trimmings from fruits, veggies, egg shells, and paper products - anything that decomposes. My hubby built a nice compost bin which I had him place beneath the kitchen window (on the back side of our house). When the kitchen bowl is full, I dump it out the window. I can't tell you how many friends have asked me what I just threw out the window. We have a good laugh when I show them the compost outside of my window. The soil around it is so rich. It hasn't smelled yet, and the deer seem to enjoy it.
Do you have any gardening tips? If so, please share them with me.
The granite tile idea sounds great for counters. Is the grout a pain to clean?
ReplyDeleteNot at all - yet. It's black to match the granite, so we hope it won't show anything. It's also sealed really well. I like the traditional look of the tile.
